Improving Market Position while Remaining a Low Cost Provider

Problem: This hospital found their niche as a low cost provider for obstetrics.  However, they wanted to improve revenues in this service line. 

Solution: Using PDS, the hospital was able to identify that they were significantly below their peer group in obstetric revenues.

Results:  Realizing that they were $150K below the lowest of their peer group, and $200K below the mid range, this hospital was able to negotiate for rates closer to the mid-range of their peer group, thus increasing revenues by $200K per year; yet still keeping their niche as a low cost provider.
